Canal Capital of the World! Birmingham by Narrowboat on the BCN Old Main Line.

It's the undisputed canal capital of the world! We're heading into Birmingham by narrowboat on the BCN old main line. We leave Dudley and head down James Brindley's winding old main line of the Birmingham Canal, passing plenty of historic architecture, the Soho, Icknield, and Ozzells Street loops, and signs of Birmingham's industrial past before we arrive right in the centre of Birmingham near the Arena. Birmingham is the canal capital of the world, with 160 miles of canals at its height. Even though 60 miles have since gone, Colin explores some of the 100 miles of canal this historic city still has to offer, and our planned 'couple of days' in Birmingham turns into a two-week stay. Colin's sad to leave!
